Current Role Minimize

I joined the company as a graduate engineer in November 2005 and have been placed in the structures group in the Burton–on-Trent office. Frazer Nash provides a relaxed and friendly company atmosphere and you are actively encouraged to meet all members of staff, including one-to-one meetings with directors. I was given responsibility almost straight away, although more established employees are always more than happy to offer me assistance and guidance. The company operates a steep learning curve, so I can expect to be managing my own projects soon. I am currently working on welding residual stress analysis. Frazer Nash is a true leader in this area, so I am gaining valuable experience.

What was your reason for joining Frazer-Nash?

I joined Frazer Nash because of the many and varied challenges and opportunities that the company can offer me. I will experience many different engineering disciplines during my time here, something that appeals greatly to me and that only a leading consultancy can provide.

Where do you see your career going?

The company is keen to invest in the personal development of every employee, and a variety of training courses are regularly attended by everyone in the organisation. I have enrolled on the IMechE MPDS and expect to achieve Chartered status in about four years time. I feel that this is a very important step in a new graduate’s career, and I have found the help and support that Frazer Nash offer in this area to be excellent.

Location

The Burton office is centrally located in the midlands just off the A38, with easy access to Derby, Birmingham and Nottingham. This is a relatively new office with excellent facilities. It is also expanding rapidly and will offer many exciting opportunities in the future.
