Systems and Engineerng Technologies
Civil Aerospace

The aerospace sector has always been at the heart of our business, and today we continue the long tradition of innovation that stretches back to the pioneering work of Archie Frazer-Nash himself. We support major clients around the world in the design, analysis and assurance of both airframe and powerplant systems.

Airframe

The aircraft industry is becoming increasingly competitive and our technological edge and commitment to on-time delivery is always in demand.

Our main business areas are:

  • Flight Physics – where we help deploy and implement the latest methods in aerodynamic analysis on today’s carefully optimised airliners
  • Design and Structures – helping to introduce new materials by developing and applying the design, manufacture and repair processes required for certification
  • Systems – solving problems in design and service and working with our customers to provide safe and cost-effective products
  • Supportability – ranging from concept analysis at the future project stage to detailed studies of operational support philosophies
  • Research – working collaboratively in all these areas to develop advanced engineering processes and techniques.

Aircraft we’ve been involved in include the Airbus A320 family, A340-500/600, A400M, and A380.

Powerplant

Frazer-Nash has been deeply involved in aircraft powerplant design for over thirty years. We help our clients deliver efficient, reliable products through a well-established set of expert services:

  • Core engine design, ranging from concept exploration to final realisation
  • Performance analysis of structural and aerothermal behaviours using the latest tools
  • Test rig provision, especially rigs utilised as part of new engine technology programmes
  • In-service support, such as the design of maintenance equipment and troubleshooting.
