Systems and engineering technology organisation, Frazer-Nash has this month announced a contract for the development of the Maritime Airborne Surveillance and Control (MASC) programme.
MASC will provide an assured Airborne Surveillance and Control capability as part of the UK’s future Carrier Strike capability which also includes the Future Aircraft Carrier (CVF) and Joint Combat Aircraft projects. It will form part of the defence around the carrier group managing airborne threats such as sea-skimming anti-ship missiles. Frazer-Nash is developing the requirements for the programme, as well as the acceptance strategy and undertaking a risk assessment for this complex system. The contract runs until late 2007.
