| System and engineering technology company Frazer-Nash Consultancy has announced that it will be playing a vital role in supporting the MoD’s development of an innovative defensive aid system.
The classified survivability technology programme, which is being run by the MoD’s Force Protection IPT at Abbey Wood, is being developed to provide advanced protection to armoured vehicles.
Frazer-Nash, specialists in land systems technology, will be working closely with the MoD to produce a detailed safety case report of the programme, in order to demonstrate its suitability for application in a military environment.
Defensive aid systems are advanced active protective systems which protect land systems against ballistic attacks. In this assessment phase Frazer-Nash will provide the essential safety measures required for the programme.
Dave Owen, Frazer-Nash Land Systems Business Manager, “The safety case is integral to the future of the project and once complete will enable it to move into its next phase. We will be using our vast experience of safety cases from across the defence sector to assist the MoD in its development of a safety management system, and are very pleased to playing such a central role in the delivery of the programme.”
The study will investigate the safety requirements needed for the programme to move into the subsequent Design and Manufacture (D&M) phase. |
