Frazer-Nash, the engineering consultancy, has announced a major new appointment to its rail team.
Richard Jones becomes the company’s Rail Business Manager, and brings more than thirty years engineering experience to the new role.
By way of a formal engineering apprenticeship and experience as both a design engineer and customer service engineer, Richard became involved in developing business for an engineering consultancy engaged in major rail infrastructure projects such as the London Underground Jubilee Line Extension.
At Frazer-Nash, Richard will work closely alongside colleagues in the Rail Group to develop the company’s profile in providing engineering solutions to the rail industry, in particular targeting track, signalling and communications infrastructure projects, both in the UK and abroad.
Commenting on the appointment, Chris Watters, Rail Group Manager for Frazer-Nash said: “Richard’s mix of skills and experience are an excellent match to those which we already possess in the Rail Group, and will be invaluable in allowing us to develop this part of the business into 2010.”
Outside work, Richard enjoys amateur motorsport and has won national championships in both saloon car and sports cars. He also organises an annual charity event at Castle Combe circuit which has to date raised over £120,000 for the Stroke Association.
