Frazer-Nash Accredited Independent Safety Assessor Status by Network Rail

Engineering consultancy Frazer-Nash has been awarded accreditation as an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) by the UK infrastructure owner and operator, Network Rail, following a rigorous assessment of the company’s skills and experience.

Accreditation was awarded on the basis of the capability of Frazer-Nash staff and the consultancy’s risk-based approach in the safety industry, including involvement across nuclear, defence and aerospace markets along with significant previous rail industry experience.

The award of ISA status to Frazer-Nash allows the company to be considered for work with Network Rail and their suppliers on future safety critical projects. Frazer-Nash is one of just 22 companies to have been accredited this way.

‘Frazer-Nash has a proven capability across all major safety-critical industry sectors, which underlines our extensive Safety Engineering experience and we look forward to bringing our efficient and cost-effective service to suppliers to Network Rail,’ said Richard Jones, Rail Business Manager at Frazer Nash. ‘With the McNulty report identifying safety as adding particularly high costs to UK rail projects, it’s time to take a practical look at assessing risk and spending the effort where it can bring the best results,’ he continued.

Following this accreditation, Frazer-Nash has won its first Rail Industry ISA project, on a software-based signalling system and is already delivering results which have impressed their customer.
