Job Description

As a result of continuing strong growth, we are seeking to recruit a Defence Aerospace Business Manager into our Aerospace Business Management team.

The primary market covered by this role is the UK Ministry of Defence, its dedicated DE&S Delivery Teams and the Industrial Base to deliver capability to the Front Line Commands. We are seeking to develop our presence across the UK, particularly within OEMS, the wider Industrial Supply Chain and Infrastructure.

The role description of the Defence Aerospace Business Manager is summarised below:

  • Contribute to the strategy of the business and own elements of the Sector 5 year plan;
  • Characterise the market and influence the development of our services towards the needs of this market;
  • Develop and maintain a network of Industry clients, both in the UK and overseas;
  • Identify, characterise and capture opportunities to deliver the business;
  • Support internal delivery and maintain profitability across a portfolio of projects.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • A background in the Defence Aerospace community, ideally at a senior level within the industrial community;
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, an established set of contacts and a good reputation in the client community;
  • An established track record of strategic thinking, business development, capture planning and delivery in a relevant environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Commercial awareness and the capability to provide guidance on bids and projects;
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to motivate individuals and teams across the business;
  • Hold a relevant Engineering Degree
