Job Description

Due to continued growth of our Power business we are looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our business management team. The candidate will ideally have a proven track record of winning work within the consulting environment.

The primary market covered by this role is the UK Power, Transmission & Distribution sector, where we work alongside the UK Distribution Network Operators, National Grid and the UK Regulators, their dedicated Project Teams and the Industrial Base to deliver the evolving energy change programme.  We are seeking to maintain and further develop our presence across this market.

The role will involve;

  • Contributing to the strategy of the business and own elements of the Sector 5 year plan
  • Characterising the market and influence the development of our services towards the needs of this market
  • Developing and maintain a network of clients
  • Identifying, characterising and capturing opportunities to deliver our business targets
  • Supporting internal delivery and maintain profitability across a portfolio of projects

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of the Power Transmission & Distribution sector. 

You will be a competent leader able to provide a balanced view and guidance that enhances performance in a manner which incorporates the company's vision and culture.

The objective of the role, will be to ensure the profitable sustainable growth and as such the successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • A background in the UK Power Transmission and Distribution sector, with experience of working at a senior level
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, an established set of contacts and a good reputation in the client community
  • An established track record of strategic thinking, business development, capture planning and delivery across the market sector.
  • Ability to evaluate the impact of decisions and/or project outcomes on strategies, operations and budgets and consult appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commercial awareness with the capability to guide bids and projects
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to motivate individuals and teams across the business
  • A relevant Engineering Degree
