Job Description

Frazer-Nash is currently embarking on a period of significant growth of our electrical, electronics, control and instrumentation capability.  To enable growth we require Electronics, Control and Instrumentation Engineers with broad or specialised backgrounds, at a range of grades. Our work spans the complete engineering lifecycle from requirements, architecture, design, assurance and commissioning. Experience of design and assurance of safety critical systems in a regulated sector is desirable; particularly the application of diversity, segregation and redundancy within systems. Candidates should demonstrate transferable skills and an interest in a consultancy style of working.
Working within teams and leading projects, typical activities include C&I equipment specification, assessment & justification, assurance and safety analysis of systems. You will be a chartered engineer (or working towards chartership) with a good relevant engineering degree.


The candidate should have a strong technical and project background; design experience which should include several of the following:

• Electronic and/or control system design and specification
• Electronic and/or control system safety assessment & justification
• Electronic and/or control system compliance substantiation and assurance
• Safety analysis of electronic and/or control systems
• SIL substantiation of safety critical systems
• Conventional / nucleonic instrumentation
• Availability, Reliability and Maintainability
• System based through life management
• ATEX / DSEAR assessment methodology and application
• Systems integration
• Industrial control systems and their security
• Control systems for mechanical handling
• Interpretation of clients' technical needs
• Identification of hazards, requirements, standards and constrains
• Regulated industry standards methodologies and application
• Technical leadership on projects
• Site supervision of projects
• Preparation of proposals
• Assistance in local marketing initiatives
• Project management
• Safety case / Design Substantiation Report authorship

As well as the above, you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be familiar with working to the requirements of ISO 9001.
