Job Description

We are growing a digital, data and technology capability that is both inward and externally facing. You will be assigned across vertical business/industry sectors within the company's client base which currently comprises Defence, Security, Government, Nuclear, Rail, Transport and Energy sectors. This group of verticals is expected to grow to reflect the ubiquitous nature of information systems technology.

You will be joining this growing team and you'll work on exciting projects in the UK and worldwide. Our Information Systems group is a successful and rapidly growing part of our business which has developed significantly in terms of footprint and capability over the last 12 months. Your efforts will help drive this success though delivering high quality technical advice and systems based problem-solving.

Requirements

We are looking for a range of candidates including experienced technical architects, engineers and consultants with experience in some of the following areas:

Architecture Methodologies: Modelling languages e.g. SysML/UML. Modelling frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF, NAF. Development approaches e.g. Agile, Waterfall.

System Design: Business, operational or concept development. System architecture and decomposition.  Software design and architecture.

Business Domains: Experience working within one of more of our key sectors.

Technology Areas: Experience in any of C4I, data networks, mesh networks, middleware, open languages, database design, interface design, data modelling.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience of open systems including open architectures, open standards, and open interfaces.

The role will be client facing and successful candidates are expected to work in a dynamic fast paced consultancy environment. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Consultancy skills: working with clients and potentially as part of an embedded client team.
  • Excellent Systems engineering and problem solving abilities.
  • Facilitation skills: fostering a team approach and managing effective meetings.
  • Communication skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional qualifications in a relevant discipline, and evidence of further continual personnel development.

Successful candidates will need some experience or aptitude for leading or contributing to bids and tenders and ideally have an understanding of project management in a commercial environment.
