When you join Frazer-Nash your career starts from day one

At Frazer-Nash, we understand how important it is to support you throughout your career - providing you with one that's rich in ways to help you to develop. We ensure that you are given the best opportunities to help you realise your full potential.

Why we invest in you

We believe that investing in you, in your training and in your career development, is an important part of our business. A career with Frazer-Nash is about your growth and development, which in turn, supports our continued success and growth.

As part of the Frazer-Nash team, we provide you with a comprehensive development programme.

Professional Development Scheme

You'll join us with an excellent academic record. However, this is just the first step. We want to support your career development so that you achieve the relevant professional qualification; for engineers this is as a Chartered Engineer, but we also support other professional qualifications such as Chartered Project Professional.

Our Professional Development Scheme is accredited by five professional institutions (IMechE, RAeS, IET, RINA and IoP). As part of your benefits package, we pay the membership subscription to your chosen professional institution.

When you join Frazer-Nash, we'll assign a mentor to you. They will work with you to develop your development plan so that you can gain the necessary skills and experience to become Chartered.

Your mentor will help and guide you as you learn the business and be on hand to answer questions and discuss your ideas. To enable you to achieve your full potential we will give you the opportunity to spend extended periods of time working in other technical groups as well as on our clients' sites.

Getting to know the business

To enable you to become a fully integrated member of the company, we run a comprehensive induction programme. This is designed to help you understand the nature of our business and to settle into your role as quickly as possible. As well as an off-site foundation day run by our directors you will have the opportunity to visit other Frazer-Nash offices, find out more about the role you'll play in the company. You'll also have discussions with key people in all the functional areas that make the company tick, and you'll meet a range of experienced people from across the company.

Career development

Frazer-Nash is a growing and flourishing company. This opens up new and exciting career paths for our employees. Therefore we take an interest in your career development. We encourage you to take ownership of your own development by following your personal development plan, but we will give you all the support you need when making important decisions about the career path you want to take.

Performance reviews

We want you to explore the possibilities and get the most out of the opportunities that are available to you.

In addition to regular informal reviews, your annual performance review will give you the opportunity to reflect on the previous year, provide feedback to your line manager and set objectives for the year to come. This helps you and your line manager to identify appropriate personal, company and professional targets.

Technical training

Building on your experience from university we expect you to develop your technical skills. It's important that you keep your technical knowledge up to date and embrace new skills and techniques. Your technical training will involve a combination of formal training courses, learning on the job from more experienced colleagues, individual research, reading round the subject and then putting it all into practice.

Develop your commercial awareness

Out technical staff are responsible for the commercial aspects of our projects as well as delivering technical solutions. As soon as you start with us, you'll work on real projects, seeing them through from start to finish.

As you gain more experience you'll have the opportunity to project manage your own projects, lead bid teams and contribute to our business development.

Throughout your career you'll work for a number of different clients, and you'll be able to work across a wide-range of industries. Your mentor will be there to guide you every step of the way.
