Closing date for this role is 31st August but we encourage early applications

As a consultancy, Frazer-Nash’s modelling and simulation projects vary in scale from small performance models of equipment through to detailed simulation of complex multi-domain interconnected systems.

Our multi-disciplinary teams work across the defence, energy and transport & industry sectors. We are looking to build on our success so far to enhance our technical capabilities and expand our offering to the market. This creates exciting opportunities for the right candidates.

Are you someone who can look beyond the task presented, who has a desire to apply their technical skills to tackle problems in new industries; to take a systems view to understand our clients’ needs and consult and deliver sustainable solutions that truly add value?

Our projects are varied both in scale and industry sector. We typically have a diverse portfolio of projects including modelling electrical power systems, simulation of novel aircraft and ships, and optimisation of military strategy using agent-based modelling and AI. These projects include some of the most complex and high-profile engineering projects in the UK today.

We are looking for someone to apply their software and modelling skills and experience to lead and contribute to this wide range of projects. Alongside the technical aspects of the role, effective communication is also key as we collaborate widely internally, with partners and with our broad customer base.

The role will involve hybrid working in our offices, at home, at clients’ sites and field trial environments, depending on the needs of projects. If you are looking for the opportunity to develop or utilise your technical leadership, project management and business development skills then this might be the right career opportunity for you.

The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • An Electrical, Mechanical or General Engineering degree (Masters/PhD or evidence of post graduate experience).
  • Experience of developing models, running simulations and creating software tools.
  • Experience of MATLAB, Simulink and Python, or equivalent toolsets.

It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

  • Experience/knowledge of a broad range of engineering domains such as electrical, electronics, mechanical, fluid dynamics and control systems.
  • Experience of a range of software languages.
  • Experience of AI tools and techniques.
  • Experience of project management, preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Experience of interpreting clients' technical needs.
  • Experience of taking technical leadership of projects.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
