News & Events - New rail transformation leader for Frazer-Nash

Rail Consultant Richard Wheldon has been appointed as Frazer-Nash's Rail Transformation Leader.

Welcoming Richard's appointment, Senior Business Executive, Ken Neal, said:

"Richard's appointment is a key milestone in our strategic goal to significantly expand our rail business over the next five years and beyond. We are already supporting Network Rail, London Underground, the DfT, HS2 and many others on a range of infrastructure and rolling stock programmes, applying our detailed knowledge of the rail environment, together with a leading systems engineering and technology focus from the other sectors within which we operate. The creation of our new rail growth team and the appointment of Richard are strategic enablers to accelerating our capability development to support major long term growth in our Rail business.

"He has responsibility for capability development, recruitment and line management of our rail growth team, as well as day to day delivery and supervision of rail projects. Working alongside our existing strong team of rail consultants, and Rail Business Managers Tim Myall and Matthew Phillips, Richard's challenge will be to recruit, develop and manage a significant increase in our rail expertise over the next five years, to complement our core skills, and to deliver the growth aspiration for this element of Frazer-Nash's business."

Richard, whose previous roles have included Strategy Advisor and Head of Management Research at the RSSB for the railway safety research programme, has a broad range of expertise including railway risk, engineering and operations. He has been with Frazer-Nash since 2010, leading our North West based rail safety work. He is a Chartered Engineer, and a Member of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers.
