News & Events - Australia team bolstered by UK engineer

Engineering consultancy Frazer-Nash has announced that a further staff member from its UK team is to relocate to the company's Australian office, following the opening of the office in 2010.

Simon Gardner will be a Safety Consultant at Frazer-Nash's office in Adelaide, where he will focus on providing technical support to a range of programmes in the defence, natural resources, rail and aerospace sectors.

In his career to date, Simon has developed substantial knowledge and expertise in the field of safety engineering. Since joining Frazer-Nash five years ago, he has been responsible for conducting safety assessments and audits on maritime vessels, nuclear facilities and MOD land system equipment on a variety of topics including explosive atmospheres, fire safety and safety management systems.  Simon has also chaired a series of hazard identification workshops, and has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Risk and Safety Management.

He has an in-depth understanding of the conditions that can lead to both on- and offshore environments becoming dangerous or hazardous, and both the engineering and management solutions required to ensure the safety of staff and assets.

Prior to his role at Frazer-Nash, Simon acquired strong leadership and management skills while serving as an officer in the Royal Engineers, managing a number of engineering projects during operational tours of both Bosnia and Northern Ireland.  He also spent five years working offshore in the oil and gas industry looking after all aspects of safety and training on drilling rigs.

Phil Harris, Manager for Frazer-Nash's Australian Business, commented: "Our team in Australia is growing rapidly, and we're delighted to welcome Simon from the UK. He is an expert in his field and his extensive experience in safety engineering and health and safety will be of tremendous value to our clients. We have been recruiting for experienced and enthusiastic Safety Consultants for a number of months in order to serve a growing demand for our safety management advice, and Simon's relocation will bolster our offering significantly."
