Where we are today

Today, Frazer-Nash provides global engineering services to the defence, nuclear, aerospace, transport, power and energy, and security and resilience industries. Frazer-Nash operates autonomously whilst contributing invaluably to the Babcock International Group.

It is the values held by Archie Frazer-Nash, to deliver engineering excellence by exceeding expectations, that has made the company the success it is today and it is these values that we continue to aspire to.

Our history and heritage timeline

1920

The Frazer-Nash engineering legacy can be traced right back to the 1920s when Archie Frazer-Nash starts the Frazer Nash company to design and produce specialist cars.

1940

Archie's talent for engineering and innovation leads to his design and production of machine gun turrets for Wellington and Lancaster bombers used during the Second World War.

1950

Frazer-Nash becomes a major developer of air weapons carriage systems and, by the time of Archie's death in 1965, the group has become a 2nd tier defence and civil contractor.

1971

The Frazer-Nash Consultancy is formed as part of the Frazer-Nash Group of companies to provide engineering analysis and computational services to the group's other companies.

1990

Following a management buyout, Frazer-Nash Consultancy continues to grow rapidly, building its portfolio of major support contracts which begins with the MOD.

2004

Frazer-Nash Consultancy is acquired to form part of Devonport Management Limited which is subsequently acquired by the Babcock International Group plc.

2007

Now owned by the Babcock International Group, Frazer-Nash Consultancy remains an independent operating entity.

2010

Frazer-Nash Consultancy opens its first Australian office in Adelaide to support programmes in defence, natural resources, rail and aerospace.

2012/2015

Frazer-Nash Consultancy opens a new office in Melbourne, and in 2015 an office in Canberra, its third Australian office.

2017

Frazer-Nash opens its Basingstoke and Bristol Narrow Quay offices bringing the total to 14.

2018

The number of staff surpasses 800.
