Frazer-Nash and KBR are to become partners in the Aurora Engineering Partnership, which supports the rapid deployment of military equipment to the frontline via the Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) programme.
Lining up alongside existing partners, QinetiQ, AtkinsRéalis and BMT, Frazer-Nash and KBR will bolster the EDP which provides mission critical engineering services to the Ministry of Defence (MOD), further strengthening technical skills and expertise, and enabling the EDP to be more competitive and innovative.
As well as bringing Frazer-Nash and KBR onboard as partners, Aurora is committing to investing in AI technology, increasing the role of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), and refreshing the EDP’s network of suppliers, to make it easier for non-traditional defence companies to provide innovation and technological skills, ultimately aiming to save time and cost, boost productivity and increase the pace of delivery for the MOD.
Sarah Wilkes, Frazer-Nash Managing Director, said: “As an existing provider to Aurora, we’re pleased to be stepping up to become an Aurora Partner. Frazer-Nash has extensive experience in mobilising rapidly to support the MOD in some of its most critical missions, and we look forward to sharing our specialist expertise – along with the insight we’ve gathered as a provider – at the Partner level. As a champion of SMEs through our FNConnect network, we’re doubly excited to be able to amplify this as an Aurora partner,”
Paul O’Shaughnessy, Vice President, Defence Nuclear Technology Solutions, KBR, said: “As a strategic supplier to the MOD, KBR has a strong track record of success in delivering mission-critical services, both in the UK and globally. We look forward to combining our knowledge and experience with our Aurora partners and doing even more to ensure our armed forces get what they need, when they need it.”
