We are delighted to announce that Nial Greeves, Market Director, Energy and Infrastructure at Frazer-Nash Consultancy has been shortlisted for the Ally of the Year Award as part of the prestigious annual Women in Nuclear UK 2026 Awards.

Each year, the Women in Nuclear UK Awards recognise those in the industry who have gone above and beyond to promote gender balance and diversity across the nuclear sector. They are also acknowledgement that in order to deploy technologies that will power tomorrow, diverse talent and inclusive leadership are required to drive them forward.

The title of Ally of the Year will be awarded to a man in the nuclear sector who is going beyond the day job to improve gender balance and diversity. The awards committee believe passionately that together everyone, no matter their gender, has the power to address the gender balance issue in our industry, and recognise the very important role men play in being ‘agents for change’, supporting the future of the industry by the use of positive words and actions to increase the number of women working in our industry.

The shortlisting for Nial Greeves is testament to his deep commitment to helping solve the energy trilemma and protecting the planet for the next generation, and understanding that a multi-faceted problem requires diverse thinking. Over the past two years, Nial has amply demonstrated his worth as a greatly appreciated and respected ally at Frazer-Nash. When a new organisational structure was defined at Frazer-Nash Consultancy in 2025, Nial developed a fantastic strategy and business development team that benefitted from diversity of thought and leadership styles and in doing so created visible female leaders for employees to learn from, aspire to and reverse mentor.

Nial also served as the executive sponsor for the Race Equity and Allyship employee resource group (ERG), where he was eager to learn how to be a better ally within an area that he recognised was out of his comfort zone. He did not shy away from this challenge, but instead committed to educating himself on anti-racism and improving the awareness of himself and others; taking them on the growth journey with him.

Discussing what being shortlisted for the award meant to him, Nial said: “I am a little surprised but very flattered and honoured to have been shortlisted for the Ally of the Year Award. At Frazer-Nash Consultancy, we are very focused on how we can support our clients achieve the golden age of nuclear. For all of us in the industry, we know that to reach this where we are delivering safe, reliable, low-carbon secure energy, we need innovation and transformation, but this can’t just be in relation to AI or new technology. We have to have transformation and innovation in diverse talent and inclusive leadership. I am proud of the work and achievements of all my female colleagues who, by their daily work are making a difference in driving the future of the nuclear sector.”

The award winners will be announced at the Women in Nuclear UK 2026 Awards at The Vox in Birmingham. We wish Nial well!
