Dr Tim Houghton, Group Leader for Process Systems and Ventilation, and Dr Chris Ward, Group Leader of Offshore Technology, have been awarded Fellowship by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

Dr Tim Houghton, Group Leader for Process Systems and Ventilation, and Dr Chris Ward, Group Leader of Offshore Technology, have been awarded Fellowship by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

Fellowship is the highest level of membership with each institution. It is awarded to individuals who demonstrate outstanding professionalism and competence, working in a senior role with significant autonomy and responsibility. It also denotes a person’s wealth of experience, commitment, and contribution to engineering.

Dr Graham Hawkes, Engineering Manager for Frazer-Nash’s Energy Technology Area, commented: “These awards reflect Tim’s and Chris’ exceptional and enduring commitment to the engineering profession and portfolio of impactful work and leadership across major programmes. This includes Tim’s significant project and research contributions within the UK nuclear industry and Chris’ extensive work towards improving air quality and de-risking ship-helicopter operations through the use of state-of-the-art simulation.”

Tim commented: "I’m delighted to be elected a fellow of the IMechE, it’s great that the value of my work has been recognised, particularly alongside the excellent work my group has been doing supporting the delivery of really important clean energy projects. This includes a wide variety of technical work from process systems design to proportionate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, reducing the technical risks that clean energy projects face, while helping to ensure that the end result is appropriately safe."

Chris commented: "I’m honoured to have been made a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in recognition of my engineering experience and expertise, particularly in developing new modelling approaches to assess air quality and de-risk ship-air operations. As a Fellow I will continue to provide the next generation of engineers the support and leadership that I was afforded, to help them to find new, innovative ways to solve tomorrow’s engineering challenges"

Frazer-Nash is committed to encouraging professional development within the consultancy and supports staff at any stage of their career.
