In its third year as a sponsor of The Engineer's Collaborate to Innovate (C2i) awards, Frazer-Nash is encouraging industry and academia to showcase their collaborative projects by entering them into the C2i competition.

The Collaborate to Innovate awards celebrate the best in engineering collaboration, where project partners are working together to deliver innovative solutions to the challenges and problems of today’s society.

Frazer-Nash Managing Director, Neil McDougall, will be one of the nine judges for the awards, drawn from across academia and industry. He said:

"We work with our clients and partners to solve their problems, so we know that collaboration succeeds. That's why we're excited to be supporting the Collaborate to Innovate awards again this year, celebrating the UK’s most innovative collaborative engineering partnerships.

"Our engineers apply a collaborative approach that looks at the whole system, not just the suspected cause. By sharing and exchanging ideas and best practice with colleagues within – and beyond – our business, we can work together to develop and deliver novel solutions to clients’ challenges.

"I'm looking forward to being part of an event that will demonstrate the difference that engineers, working together, can make to people’s lives; and recognising the projects that are using disruptive ideas and technologies to solve previously insurmountable problems.”

About C2i

The C2i awards aim to uncover and celebrate some of the UK’s most inspiring, innovative and effective collaborative technology projects. The award's nine category themes are: automotive; aerospace, defence and security; information, data and connectivity; healthcare and medical; energy and environment; and manufacturing technology.

There are also two additional awards: the Academic Innovator, for academic groups able to demonstrate sustained excellence in innovation and collaboration across multiple projects; and the Young Innovator, which celebrates collaborations between businesses and school students.

The competition is open to any project, whether from industry or academia, that is truly innovative, represents a collaboration between two or more separate organisations and has had, or is likely to have, a demonstrable impact in its area of application.

The closing date for entries is 10 May. Winners will be announced at an informal party in the city of London on Wednesday 6 November.
