Frazer-Nash’s Peter van Manen, will open the Institute of Asset Management’s annual conference this year, with a keynote address titled ‘The future of digital asset management’.

Peter describes how his keynote address will share his more than 20 years’ experience of the fast-moving world of Formula One:

“Formula One is a sport that relies heavily on the digital world, to develop some of the fastest and most rapidly changing vehicles on the road. I’ll talk about racing and share some examples of how we apply the same approach to change and risk across the defence, energy, transport and infrastructure sectors.

“I’ll discuss how new digital technologies can help asset management across a diverse range of areas: from ships and railways, through gas turbines, nuclear and sustainable energy, to corrosion and water.”

The three-day event will also feature papers from Frazer-Nash’s Mark Joyce, on ‘Creating a digital line of sight’, and from Dave Burton who will present ‘Better information (management) at its best’ with Dan Wilson from Electricity North West.

The IAM Annual Conference 2019 will take place at the ACC in Liverpool from 24 to 26 June, with a programme of activities exploring asset management in the context of the rapid advances of a digital world. Presentations will cover the challenges and opportunities from new enablers that include digital twins, 3D modelling, digital line of sight, right sourcing and associated information management.
