Engineering consultancy Frazer-Nash has announced that Tim Arridge has joined as Senior Consultant within its Information Security division.

Tim joins from defence technology company QinetiQ, where he provided high-level information assurance and security advice to a range of organisations and to national governments in particular. This included managing relationships with key security personnel, providing consultancy on critical and operational defence information systems, and leading on risk assessments of new and existing system infrastructure.

Prior to QinetiQ, Tim trained as an IT Security Consultant with the Royal Navy's Security Directorate and the UK Government's Defence Evaluation and Research Agency, enabling computer systems to achieve government security accreditation. His time at QinetiQ also included three years as a Computer Forensic Investigator.

At Frazer-Nash, Tim will be responsible for delivering Information Security best-practice advice in both government and commercial arenas, establishing effective security risk management plans and appropriate security architecture for customers, and growing the Frazer-Nash Information Assurance capability.

Commenting on Tim's arrival, Business Manager Dave Reed commented: "Tim has worked on a number of complex IT programmes and his experience will be invaluable as we develop our information security and assurance expertise within Frazer-Nash. He has a focussed, analytical mind that will be of tremendous benefit to our clients as we help them tackle today's IT security challenges."
