News & Events-Modelling engineering expert joins Frazer-Nash

Frazer- Nash, the engineering consultancy, has announced the appointment of a new senior consultant to its modelling team as it seeks new business opportunities in the sector.

Phil Rottier's role within Frazer-Nash will be to help develop the company's modelling and simulation capabilities, particularly in the areas of physical and event-based systems, to which MATLAB and Simulink software tools are well suited.

After obtaining a Master's degree in engineering and a PhD in physical Oceanography, Philip became a member of the signatures and modelling group at BAE SEMA (YARD) Ltd, working on stealth issues, primarily for naval platforms. He went on to join the consultancy team at The MathWorks Ltd where he provided modelling and simulation services to a range of clients and industry sectors, including the MOD's marine electrical systems project team.

In recent years Phil has been working at BAE SYSTEMS as a senior consultant for the Future Engineering group, focussing predominantly on the wider issue of through-life support and continuous service delivery, looking at optimisation of the support solution for a range of naval marine systems.

Martin Pocock, Technical Manager at Frazer Nash, says: "Phil joins us with over a decade of simulation and modelling experience working for companies such as MathWorks Ltd and BAE SYSTEMS so he will make a huge impact in our expanding systems modelling team. His industry knowledge and experience is exactly what we need to build on the level of growth we've already achieved."
