Frazer-Nash is delighted to announce that Steven Wagstaff has joined the engineering consultancy as a Senior Consultant within its Materials Performance Group where he will be providing advice to companies within the defence, as well as nuclear, power & energy, rail and marine sectors.

With nine years of experience in structural corrosion and environmental modelling, Steven joins the team from BAE Systems where he worked as a Principal Scientist at the Advanced Technology Centre.  He has led programmes to examine maintenance and management of the health of assets across land, sea and air defence domains - including on the Joint Strike Fighter, armoured vehicles and Type 45 destroyer ships.

Steven brings particular expertise of the marine and offshore domains where he has worked on a wide range of projects including understanding how to model and control corrosion of different materials in different environments.  He has worked on a number of corrosion programmes ranging from coating models through to developing sensors that can detect where corrosion is likely to occur.

Before joining BAE Systems, Steven studied at Bristol University where he gained a Bachelor of Science in Physics, a Masters in Advanced Electronic Materials and a PhD in Surface Analysis Techniques for Materials.

Steven's role at Frazer-Nash is to provide his corrosion, environmental and health management expertise to new and existing clients.

Jon Douglas, Group Leader at Frazer-Nash, said "I'm delighted to welcome Steve to the Materials Performance Team and am very excited about the prospect of working with him. His expertise in corrosion broadens our current strength of materials capability and his systems approach gives us a real opportunity to offer even better value to our growing list of clients across all business sectors."
