News & Events-Frazer-Nash to provide safety and environmental support to the MOD

Engineering consultancy Frazer-Nash has been appointed by the Safety and Technical Support Team in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to provide specialist safety and environmental advice and resources on the Future Submarine programme following a competitive tender process.  

The replacement of the UK's submarine based deterrent is an extremely complex task, requiring the development and integration of the submarine platform and systems. The development of the safety and environmental cases associated with this project is just as complex and an extremely important part of the of assessment phase of the project. Frazer-Nash will assist the MoD throughout this stage to ensure advancement past the design review in 2016.

The consultancy will call on relevant engineering capability from experts who have extensive experience working on submarine programmes for the MoD, including all current classes of in-service submarines, to carry out the analysis of the proposed design and provide the MoD with a fully comprehensive report and relevant recommendations.
