News & Events-Discussing the future of gas turbine technology


Gary Lock, gas turbines Business Manager at Frazer-Nash, will be taking part in the International Gas Turbine Conference, taking place in Brussels on 12 and 13 October.

Gary, who is also an ETN board member, will be moderating the afternoon panel discussion 'Which gas turbine technology advancements are foreseen by OEMs to satisfy the current and future market?' on day two of the conference, 13 October.

Chaired by Andre Mom, President Emeritus of the European Turbine Network, the discussion will see each of the six panellists given five minutes to present on the topic, before a panel discussion and question and answer session.

The panellists are:

  • Akimasa Muyama, Director, Executive Vice President, Head of Turbine Products Headquarters, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS)
  • Michael Leary, Systems Engineering Manager, GE Power
  • Stefan Florjancic, Chief Technology Officer for research and development, Ansaldo Energia
  • Mark Keith, Vice President, Solar Turbines
  • Sven-Hendrik Wiers, Vice President Gas Turbines, MAN Diesel & Turbo

Held at the Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels, the 8th International Gas Turbine Conference is titled 'The Future of Gas Turbine Technology'. With presentations and discussions on on-going research and development activities, the conference aims to raise awareness of gas turbine technology development needs from both oil and gas and power generation operators' perspectives, and to highlight the energy market outlook in Europe and globally.
