Organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), this is the second International Conference on Nuclear Security, and is titled 'Nuclear Security: Commitments and Actions'. The conference has been convened to discuss the international community's nuclear security experiences and achievements, to enhance understanding of approaches and trends, and to develop and share views on future directions and policies

The conference will include a scientific and technical programme of high level discussions on six broad themes central to nuclear security, with parallel technical sessions on specialised scientific technical, legal and regulatory issues. This will be complemented by a ministerial segment, where ministers will deliver messages on achievements, commitments and actions, and adopt a Ministerial Declaration.
