News & Events-Future Power System Architecture project publishes report

The Future Power System Architecture (FPSA) project was established to consider how best to address the challenges facing Great Britain's power networks as the electricity system undergoes a period of transformative change. The project reports and supporting documents are now available to download on the IET and Energy Systems Catapult websites.

Frazer-Nash, along with Ricardo Energy and Mapsar, was one of the project's knowledge area consultants. With responsibility for drawing together the report's supporting evidence, the stakeholder activities included some 80 industry parties.

The Energy Systems Catapult and the IET have drawn upon their respective strengths and engaged with a broad community of stakeholders and other experts to deliver the project. The collaboration has built upon the shared commitment to respond effectively to the challenges presented by the energy trilemma: decarbonisation, security of supply and affordability.

Commissioned by the Department of Energy & Climate Change, the findings will assist ministers, officials and industry professionals to anticipate developments and to assess their significance.
