News & Events-Train Zero paper picks up National Instruments Engineering Impact Award

Frazer-Nash and Bombardier collaborated to develop a state-of-the-art system integration test facility known as Train Zero which enables an innovative approach to systems integration and provides Bombardier with the capability for testing and refinement of new rolling stock much earlier in the design process than has previously been possible.

At last week's National Instruments Awards in Austin Texas, Frazer-Nash's paper submission titled "Bombardier - Train Zero Model Based Design Facility" won the Transportation and Heavy Equipment category. Authored by Senior Consultant, Colin Freeman, the paper explains how model based design techniques were used to optimise everything from requirements capture and validation, through design and on to validation and verification testing, at a sub-system and system level.
