News & Events-Autonomous systems advice to be showcased at DSEI

As discussions take place about the opportunities of robotics and autonomy at the DSEI Land Capability Conference today (11 September), systems and engineering technology consultancy, Frazer-Nash Consultancy is offering to help defence and security clients understand how to maximise the benefits of adopting autonomous system technologies.

The company will be exhibiting at Stand S4-368 at DSEI, taking place from 12 to 15 September. Outlining some of the issues that are likely to be discussed at the Land Capability Conference, Aerospace Business Manager, Andrew Chadwick, said:

"Autonomous systems are playing an increasingly important role in defence - driven by the need for safer, more effective and more capable systems that expose operators to less danger, contamination, or even tedium, in service.

"They are a hugely useful tool in hazardous or challenging environments, in areas where human lives may be exposed to greater risk, and across dirty, dull, and dangerous tasks. This autonomy can particularly benefit the defence sector, helping it to manage risk and cost.

"At DSEI, we'll be discussing how we can confidently accelerate our clients' adoption of autonomous system capabilities, as we are uniquely placed as an independent provider of Autonomous Systems assurance services."

Frazer-Nash is able to advise defence and security clients how autonomous systems can be operated safely and securely alongside manned platforms, utilising skills and experience drawn from systems engineering, algorithms and software (including intelligent algorithm development), control systems, modelling and simulation, safety, software safety and assurance and human factors.

Andrew adds:

"We can work with you to ensure a 'right-first time' entry into service for Autonomous Systems programmes Our aim is to be the UK's leading provider of cross-sector assurance and analysis services for all classes of autonomous systems, and support the development, system level design and integration, testing, and validation of autonomous systems in accordance with appropriate regulations."
