Frazer-Nash’s Mike Morua and Karl King were presented with Outstanding Service Awards at November’s International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Annual Systems Engineering Conference (ASEC).

The awards were given in recognition of the work they had undertaken in arranging the 2018 Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE)/INCOSE Railway Interest Group (RIG) joint conference, at the University of Birmingham.

A hundred attendees working in, or with an interest in, the rail sector took part in the RIG conference, an increase on the number attending in 2016 – and there was even a waiting list in place due to the high demand. Mike and Karl organised and hosted the conference, and as joint event secretaries for the group have also taken on responsibility for coordinating additional RIG activities.

In addition to the certificates presented to Mike and Karl, the Railway Interest Group was also recognised with an Outstanding Service Award. The award citation described how ‘attendance at [its] meetings has steadily grown and resulted in fruitful partnerships with organisations such as the IRSE. This has resulted in the promotion of good Systems Engineering practice and raising the INCOSE profile’.
