Cloud computing offers many benefits to gain the advantage over adversaries. So how can the military benefit from the opportunities the cloud offers while also mitigate the risks?

Step forward, Secure by Design (SbD). Introduced by the UK Government in 2023, SbD emphasises designing security into systems, products, and buildings from the outset rather than as an afterthought. This also applies in the development of legacy systems not built with security in mind so more susceptible to attack.

Aligning closely with the principles of NATO’s Zero Trust principles for cloud computing, SbD builds security into the very foundations of technology.

Here at Frazer-Nash we’ve been working on this approach since its inception, bridging the gap between suppliers and defence and security customers.
