Frazer-Nash’s Graham Hawkes appointed as new Chair of IMechE Renewable Power Committee

We are delighted to announce that Graham Hawkes, Engineering Manager for Energy Technology has been appointed as the incoming chair for the IMechE’s Renewable Power Committee (RPC).

As part of our work in the Renewables industry, Graham has been a member of the RPC for the past two years and played a key role in organising the IMechE’s Inaugural Wind Turbine User Group conference. This year in May he will co-chair the second conference in London with the outgoing RPC chair, Tony Quinn Director of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC).

In response to the announcement Graham commented:

“I am privileged to take on the role of Chair for the RPC, building on Tony Quinn’s commitment and dedication to lead the committee over the past years.

Thanks to years of proving the technology in the field we are now firmly within the era of implementing renewables at scale, and I look forward to supporting members, engaging with the wider industry as we look to capitalise on opportunities for the supply chain and skilled workforce to build out projects.  Collaboration and agility are key, so that renewables projects work alongside legacy generation, new build nuclear programmes, and other decarbonising vectors to best support our increasing demands for energy whilst driving towards our net Zero 2050 obligations.”
