Systems and engineering consultancy, Frazer-Nash, has been appointed to the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) ‘Spark’ Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

The Spark DPS has been established to enable government and the public sector to access new and emerging technology products. It is helping customers in a wide range of organisations to find suppliers who can deliver solutions across the eight technology areas that are predicted to have the largest impact in the next two to five years: the Internet of Things (IoT); Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation; simulated and enhanced environments; engineering and materials science; data; wearables; transport; and security.

Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2018/19, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth £945 million – supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

Frazer-Nash Business Manager for Government Infrastructure, Andy Spears, said:

“We’re really pleased to have been successfully appointed to the Spark DPS, as we know that our experience of, and expertise in, developing and delivering novel and innovative solutions can add real value to public sector organisations.

“Spark is described as a ‘Technology Innovation Marketplace’ and we’ll be setting out our stall in this marketplace and showing how our skills and services can drive innovation in public services, and offer cost-savings to the public sector.

“To achieve a place on the Spark DPS, we had to prove that we had delivered radical or disruptive innovations that had benefited our clients. With over four decades of experience, we were able to demonstrate that we’ve provided complex systems design to projects across a range of industries. Whether designing prototypes or helping to improve existing designs, our cutting-edge technical analysis has helped solve our customers’ small- and large-scale real-world problems.

“The Spark DPS will allow us to share how our innovative approach, and specialist expertise in emerging technologies can help public sector organisations overcome their challenges.”
