Site constraints

We help you visually explain site constraints to your stakeholders.

Major inland depot: How can I explain my sites’ constraints to my customers?

A large inland rail terminal has multiple stakeholders across the site who each have trains moving between the mainline and their warehouses.

The terminal must meet the arrival and departure times of services, as specified by Network Rail, and when a train is entering or leaving the mainline many of the movements on the site must cease.

Due to these restrictions on the site rail movements, stakeholders will often be given a short time window to move between locations on site. If their window is missed it can be difficult to find an appropriate alternative time to perform the movement, potentially causing significant delays.

We developed a tool which allows a user to visualise and interrogate conflicts in site movements.

This gave our customer the ability to visually explain the constraints on the sites internal schedule to their stakeholders.
