We are an integrated strategic improvement partner to an international defence company involved in capital projects who is seeking to improve programme and engineering delivery performance and governance. This activity forms the core part of an organisational and functional transformation being rolled out across a portfolio of key programmes, with facilitation and training being conducted in a highly collaborative and supportive manner.


Technical skills

  • Leads the successful delivery of complex client projects, also acting as contract manager.
  • Leads multi-functional delivery teams, involving staff, contractors, contractor and client teams.
  • Owns relationship with client sponsor(s).
  • Accountable for the delivery of the project(s) in terms of cost, time, quality and ensuring sound PM principles are applied.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to improve effective and efficient delivery.
  • Delivering excellence to secure further work.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring and development of team members.
  • Provides timely and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Ensures Continuous Improvement and Learning from Experience are embedded in Delivery.
  • Has highly developed communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, able to convey convincing ideas and arguments.
  • They have the ability to simplify technical and complex information to suit a range of audiences and command the attention of clients.
  • Ensure the delivery of client satisfaction and recognise opportunities for further business development to ensure maintenance of strong relationships with the client.
  • Lead and influence client decision making through the provision of expert advice and relevant insights.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current industry/sector best practice and have extensive knowledge of relevant methodologies and analytic techniques.
  • APM PMQ Essential, MSP Desirable.


Consultancy skills

  • Builds effective relationships across the organization and stakeholder groups.
  • Contributes strongly to business development activity including provision of P3M SQEP to development of technical proposals.
  • Collaborates with, facilitates and lead stakeholder groups.
  • Able to impart expertise, knowledge and experience via a variety of techniques including direct engagement, coaching and mentoring.
  • Has effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Has the ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
  • Exercises considerable judgement in understanding client/sector issues and customising solutions to fit.
  • Creatively applies innovative thinking in identifying solutions that will deliver value for the benefit of the client.
  • Provides advice regarding application of specialism and ensures advise is appropriate to organisations needs.
  • Lead improvement initiatives through recognising opportunities to improve and drive them through to realisation.
