The Opportunity

As an engineer within our Rotating Machinery Centre (www.fnc.co.uk/rmc) you’ll be expected to lead projects, hold close client relationships, develop future services, as well as helping to win new work. This will allow you to develop your career and to support the development of those around you. In order to meet on-going demand we are looking to expand the team.

Our Rotating Machinery Centre is based in the heart of the country just south of the beautiful Peak District, within easy access of nearby Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham.

We have an incredibly diverse client base demonstrated by the range of speeds and scales we work with. Whilst the majority of our projects are for GTs we also work in the 10s, 100s and 100,000s of rpm (wind turbine / marine tail shaft / fuel pump for an air breathing spaceplane rocket motor!).

The team have been developing methods for over a decade, for example, the methods to allow condition based maintenance of GTs. We’ve also been busy presenting our work at international conferences, for example our methods combining Bayesian Inference and Rotor Dynamics Modelling and using Machine Learning techniques to better understand the real risks of compressor re-wheeling.
