Salary £35,000 to £50,000 per annum
As a Structural Integrity Data Scientist, you will be a pioneer in applying simulation and data science expertise to help solve the varied mechanical integrity and materials science challenges that are faced by mechanical engineers in the 21st century.
Our Group sits within the Asset Integrity area, which supports our clients understand and optimise the performance and integrity of components, systems and facilities using a range of tools and approaches. We operate in many sectors including energy (conventional and nuclear energy generation, renewables and oil & gas), transport (rail, maritime, aerospace and automotive, industry (process and manufacture) and defence (all domains).
We have a wide range of capability utilising modelling, probabilistic simulation, and computer aided engineering (such as FEA) to predict the behaviour of engineering systems within a range of high-value industries. Our colleagues have a wide range of backgrounds including mechanical engineering, fundamental materials science, data science and software development. We are growing our ‘digital’ capabilities in data science and machine learning to provide greater understanding of mechanical integrity and materials science problems. You will play in key role in actively shaping the future of our Group in these exciting new areas.

You have an enquiring mind, as evidenced by your STEM degree. You are someone who enjoys working with people, can actively listen and have empathy for our clients’ problems and a desire to find solutions and exploit new technologies. You will be required to undertake and supervise technical projects for a range of clients, translating technical details into implementable recommendations. You will provide technical and project leadership and assure delivery to cost, timescales and quality requirements. You have experience of applying your technical knowledge in industry, helping to solve real-world problems.
